Having specialised in the design and manufacture of spray paint for many years, DC Paint Solutions has created a collection of specially-designed paints which can be used for specific DIY projects. One of which is the repainting of an engine, so here we have put together an easy guide on how to do this using our car spray paint.
To respray your engine, you will need the following:
Painting an engine is all about the prep, once the engine is removed, seal up all appropriate ports in the engine. Thoroughly power wash the engine with appropriate detergents and dry. Once the engine is clean, wash the engine bay off with clean water, remove the detergents. Ensure that all has dried and then thoroughly degrease the engine bay. Mask off any parts of the engine block you do not want to be painted.
Once this has dried, you can now apply the engine bay paint. Apply 2 to 4 coats until you are satisfied with the colour. Leave to cure up to 40 minutes between coats. Once you have finished painting, leave to cure overnight. This end paint can not only add value to your vehicle, but aesthetically it transforms the engine bay.
