Pantone Colour of the Year 2017: Greenery

Optimism, grace and just general positivity. Greenery provides us all with that extra boost we need to make sure that we stay true to our New Year’s resolutions, individual goals and career targets as we tackle 2017.

The Pantone Colour of the Year 2017 is Greenery. A stylish, earthy shade that will prove to be symbolic as the year unfolds.

Pantone: Greenery 15-0343

Associated with new beginnings, Greenery looks to provide a fresh and vibrant feel that promotes the early days of spring, boosting the restoration of plant life and illustrating the outdoors.

A shade of Green may seem strange to some. However, its neutral balance allows the shade to be utilised in a range of environments. Throughout the year we will see Greenery used in commercial building designs, residential decorations, fashion and even the automotive industry.

There are many Man and Vans in London that promote an interior design service that will look to incorporate the Pantone Colour of the Year into their creations, boosting optimism and an urban feel.

The Greenery shade is true to personal goals, passions and achievements – always looking to assist in the successful accomplishment no matter how challenging.

Previous Pantone Colour of the Years

Pantone have been promoting colours of the year for some time now. Let’s take a look back at previous colours and how they have transformed over the last 5-years.

Pantone Colour of the Year 2012 – Tangerine Tango (17-1463): The Tangerine Tango saw this particular shade utilised across many industries, most frequently in the Fashion industry. The vibrant colour was seen in many dress designs and was an excellent way for designers to express themselves during the summer and spring months.

Pantone Colour of the Year 2013 – Emerald (17-5641): As 2013 unfolded, yet again a shade of Green was developed as the colour of the year. Emerald was seen as a lively, radiant Green that promoted a luxurious vibe around the traditional gemstone colour.

Pantone Colour of the Year 2014 – Radiant Orchid (18-3224): Exploding with confidence and embracing warmth, Radiant Orchid was chosen as the 2014 Pantone Colour of the Year for its ability to spark imagination and creativity. The 2014 colour of the year promotes joy, love, laughter and good health.

Pantone Colour of the Year 2015 – Marsala (18-1438): Associated with the earth itself Marsala was a robust shade that looked to enrich our mind, body and souls. Marsala was able to make a strong statement when used on its own but worked equally as well as a supporting accent to a range of other colours and shades.

Pantone Colour of the Year 2016 – Rose Quartz (13-1520) & Serenity (15-3919): In 2016, the Pantone Colour of the Year was blended with two beautiful shades. Both Rose Quartz and Serenity promoted mindfulness, good health and well-being. The two shades were able to demonstrate a balance between the embracing tone of the Rose Quartz and the cool, collected Serenity Blue.

What is the Pantone Colour of the Year?

For many years now, Pantone has been creating a selection of strongly favoured colour shades that they believe will shape the upcoming years. The Pantone Colours of the Year look to symbolise moods, attitude and express any emotions throughout a variety of industries.

Pantone Colours are used nationally for a number of projects. Some include personal DIY projects at home, whereas others are better suited to commercial projects. Either way, any Pantone Colour can be custom filled into a Pantone Aerosol Can and delivered the very next day, depending on the availability of the colour.
