2K Metal Grip Base Aerosol Spray Paint

Textured

• Fine – A very fine textured finish akin to a kitchen anti slip work surface.
• Course – A rougher textured finish akin to fine sandpaper, but no as abrasive.
• None – Standard paint with a flush finish (no texture).

Two-pack acrylic base coat with direct adhesion on non ferrous metal substrates for solid, metallic and mica colours, in a two-coat process. To overcoat with glossy and matt acrylic clearcoat.

Characteristics

• Fast drying

• Excellent adhesion on aluminium and its alloys, zama (zinc+aluminium+magnesium), brass and epoxy primers (a previous adhesion test is always recommended)
• Excellent light resistance
• Only metallic and mica colours of this basecoat can also be overcoated with soft-touch clearcoat

Substrate Preparation

Aluminium and its alloys, mama (zinc+aluminium+magnesium), brass: degreasing with 00695 silicone remover slow followed by blowing.

Application

Spray – Mixing ratio:

LS945 2K GRIP BASE (derived from binder 29945) 1000 parts

29355 LECHSYS ACRITOP STANDARD HARDENER 100 parts

00825 (Standard) -00824 (Slow) LECHSYS UNIVERSAL THINNERS 500 parts

Pot life at 20°C : 4 hours

Spray viscosity at 20 °C: 16-18” DIN 4

Recommended spray temperature: above 5°C under 30°C

Ø Air cap: 1,2 mm

Air pressure: 3,5 Atm

N° of coats: 2-3

Recommended film thickness: 20-30 μ

Theoretical coverage: 1 kg of mixture = 7.3 mÇ at 25 μ

1 l of mixture = 6.7 mÇ at 25 μ

V.O.C. of the mixture ready for use: ~ 750 g/l

Drying Time

Air drying at 20°C :

Overcoatable with clearcoat after 20 min.

WARNING! Always read the instructions on 2K products before you spray. You must release the plastic cap at the base of the can. You will find a ring in the cap, thread the ring through the metal pin at the base of the can. Twist 3 times and pull. This will release all the elements of your paint together. Shake the cans for 3-5 minutes then let it settle for 2 minutes and you are ok to paint. Always use the appropriate safety materials and masks for using 2k (2Pack) products.
